9th red, two choices, was it the right decision for a 147?
A choice of 2 reds on the 9th red, should I have gone up for the blue for a high break or was coming back on the cushion red the right choice?, the reds were nicely spread, was thinking of a 147 the moment the first red went in.

Farewell to my tip, giving it an honourable goodbye.

Just an inventive way of getting on the red on the top cushion, I'm always experimenting such shots.
107 Break.

Hit the Century, had to rely on not just a great double on the 2nd from last red but also had to rely on a fluke on the last red as not possible to hit it full on, was supposed to be a deliberate double but ended up in the pocket rather differently ;-D After rewatching the video it actually came to 107, the fluked red was the century, my mate miscounted half way through.
Pink cost me another ton.

Tricky pink down the rail would have seen another ton under my belt, the only solice is that it wasn't a pocket hanger.
A Tough Clearance.

I was faced with this, blue 1cm off cushion,...6in up from centre pocket, pink tight on green cushion, yellow 1in off bulk cushion, rest of colours on their spots.
Nice Little 90.

Few Deep Screw Shots (Darren Payne)

Just a few trial and error deep screw shots, one of them made Jimmy's curve on the pink look straight,...bent the ball staright into the centre pocket by mistake lol.
147 Maximum 'Line Up' Break (Darren Payne)
Переглядів 3872 роки тому
Total clearence of 147 on the Snooker line Up, 15 reds, 15 blacks followed by the last six colours. I've now retired from the line out practice routine as I've finally maxed it out with nowhere else to go on it,...well except beating my timed run possibly or a 155 :-) Note: I had to place a 17sec mute of sound at (0:57) as UA-cam were heavily flagging the background music.

145 Line Out Break, so close now to the 147.
Переглядів 522 роки тому
Yesterday I hit a 144 on the line out, this evening I hit 145, I'm gonna get that 147 Max line out if It's the last thing I do! Landed slightly wrong side of the forteenth red to get position on the 14th black (you can see me rather annoyed at "4:58"), I tried to get the white between the yellow and brown but got that wrong and ended up taking a long blue, I then had to tackle removing a tricky...
144 Break on a Line Out, almost 147.
Переглядів 682 роки тому
Landed slightly wrong side of the final red to get position on the 15th black (you can see me grit my teeth "5:54" as I knew I underhit the 14th black) so had to settle for a high D colour, in this case the brown, I then have to tackle a tough final pink due to bad positioning from the blue, I will 147 max this out hopefully when I'm back up the club.

Snooker Line-up 5m44s (Darren Payne)
Переглядів 7093 роки тому
I just fancied doing something a little different today at the local Snooker hall (Nov' 2020), a full line-up completion in under 6mins, if it wasn't for the fact I had to respot the colour balls myself, the total time most likely would have been under 5mins.

Well, I uploaded this video around 3yrs ago, it reached 300,000 views with 400 comments until a little shitty ap called the John Virgo ap red flagged it and got it selfishly removed meaning no more viewing for youtubers, all comments and view count gone and a copyright strike for me,...just because I added 5mins of footage at the end showing Alex cleverly potting a Pink and a black ball 1-hande...

Alex is the greatest single shot potter ever. Maybe not the greatest at getting positions or getting high breaks, but if there was a near impossible pot on, Alex would be the player I'd want to take it.

its hard to believe as well that this was a man playing to earn a living? but he prefferd to entertain the crowd. how can some one not like a man like that. This was when players just played only for themselfs, the crowd didnt matter. And alex still won 5 majors and 2 were the world title. Alex had the skill to be the greatest player ever, he had everything in his game, when on form he made a 140 break make so easy and fast, just the way he was nudging out a red at a time from the pack off the black was a pure joy to watch. And i thought it doesnt look that hard its all strait forward? My father said "no its not he just makes it look easy, you have to think 3 shots ahead and know how much stun, screw back, and side and weight to put on the cue ball" a think he ended up on a yellow that was on the side cushion and went for it instead of the black and potted it just to get it on its spot and what a shot it was. I thot why not the black alex and try for the 147. But that was alex? He looked at that shot hard and thought he could miss the yellow at the last 6 or pot it and not be on the green? And that meant he would get a 120 break? He was a very clever guy at working the game out and counting the sums, and steve davis and thorburn said he was the best safety player in the game. But would we all admire him if he didnt entertain? A dont think so. A wouldnt want that. Sports all about entertainment not about how many trophys or how much cash you have. And alex was the only player i would pay to watch in the 1970s and 80s. Ronnie the rocket loved him plus jimmy white, enough said.

The shot at 02:48 is definitely a fluke.. he teied for the top pocket and missed it so badly!! Nobody plays that type of shot without an element of safety.. he went for top left, missed it badly, and was lucky to fluke it.. yes, I know shots like the cocked hat are played BUT, have a degree of safety.. no safety there was played.. unless, of course, the frame was already won 😮

Seriously you thought he was going straight in the top left corner? You don't think good players try those shots from time to time? Look at some Jimmy White videos for example.

I was born in 1988 so missed the golden years. One thing that stands out to me, not just with snooker, but darts, boxing, football etc. Back in the 80’s and 90’s there was more of a genuine, realism to sports back then. As if the players were no different to the guy next door. Proper working class professionals where fans and players were alot more connected than in todays times. Now there seems to be this hierarchy mentality amongst alot of the “ professionals “ that creates a complete detachment that shows with the atmosphere. Back in the days of the 80’s you’d see the players getting pissed in darts and snooker, with a fag in hand lol. Just dont see it anymore and in a way its taken the magic away from most sports. I know money is great but i feel that the absurd amounts of money have killed the heart and soul of sports these days.

Easily the most overrated snooker player of all time. Sure he made some freakish pots... But he just smashes the balls around and has no positional game whatsoever. He wouldn't have half the highlights he does if he hadn't got himself into terrible positions so often and was forced into taking on difficult pots. There's a very good reason he won so few events compared to the true legends.
